Reflexology

What is Reflexology?
ReflexologyReflexology massage can be applied to the feet, to help the body restore balance between itself, the mind and emotions. Reflexology is unique to the individual in terms of application and effect. Sensitive trained hands can detect tiny deposits and imbalances in the feet and by working these points your reflexologist releases any blockages and restores the flow of energy to the whole body. A treatment can be tailor-made to your requirements as our therapists are experienced in both traditional and gentler methods of reflexology.

What will happen during your reflexology treatment?
On your first visit you will be asked a few questions about your medical history and general lifestyle. Your reflexologist will then start to massage your feet, making a note of problem areas. If there is some discomfort experienced in certain areas it will be momentary and is usually an indication of congestion or imbalance in the corresponding part of the body. Your treatment overall should induce a state of total relaxation and a feeling of well-being. A treatment session lasts 45 mins and a course of treatment varies in length depending on your body’s needs. After your first treatment your reflexologist will discuss your treatment plan with you.

The benefits of Reflexology
Reflexology treats the whole person and not just the symptoms of a disease. Treatment is suitable for both adults and children and can help the following: Acute & chronic conditions, Stress Related Problems, Sleep Disorders, Sport Injuries, IBS, PMT & gynaecological disorders.

Are there any side effects to the treatment?
After a treatment your body may experience a healing crisis. This is a perfectly natural response to treatment. You may feel lethargic, nauseous, or tearful or feel cold but this will soon pass as your body restores its balance leaving you feeling revitalised. During your healing crisis your body is attempting to eliminate toxins, so it is important to drink plenty of water.
