Health & Wellbeing For All

Meditation and Relaxation Classes

What is Meditation?
Meditation and relaxation classesMeditation means many different things to many people, but broadly it describes a state of concentrated attention on some object of thought or awareness. It usually involves turning the attention of the mind inward to itself. There are traditions of using meditation in all the worlds religions, although religious beliefs are not a pre-requisite for it’s practice.

Through Meditation and Relaxation we can learn to let go of the effects of stress and tension, bring about wellbeing and a sense of deep calm and focus. Giving us greater control in our lives and a deeper understanding of our own selves.

Can anyone take part?
Yes! At Amitayus Wellbeing we fully respect the beliefs and background of the individual. We aim to present different techniques and ideas that you can take away and incorporate into your own life should you wish. Much of the practice is informed by Buddhist and Yogic thought, although we place great emphasis on what is relevant to us in the West and also draw on other Werstern traditions.

Can anyone meditate?
Yes. There’s no reason why anyone can’t meditate. It’s just a case of finding what works for you. Meditation is just about learning to use the mental faculties that you already have.

Why do you offer these classes?
In our experience of providing Complementary Healthcare, we see time and time again people suffering from conditions and problems where stress of one kind or another is a major factor.

We want our clients to achieve long lasting wellbeing. This means equiping people to help themselves and deal with the difficulties in their lives more effectively. Meditation and Relaxation can contribute significantly to a healthy and happy life. Which is what we want for everyone.
